Automate the internal step first
A first automation should remove a repetitive step without contacting a client, publishing content, charging money, or changing a live record on its own. The useful starting point is usually capture, sorting, or draft preparation—not the final external action.

The 7-point safe-first checklist
- Is the task repeated often enough to matter?
- Can you inspect the output quickly?
- Can it fail without contacting a client?
- Is there a human approval step?
- Can you turn it off easily?
- Can you measure time saved or errors prevented?
- Can you identify which source produced the signup or click?
